The Katskhi Pillar is a natural limestone monolith about 40 metres tall in the village of Katskhi near Chiatura. On its top stand the remains of early medieval monastic buildings and a church dedicated to Maximus the Confessor, restored in the 2000s.

The pillar is a unique Georgian monument of stylite monasticism — monks lived here in seclusion. Climbing the pillar is restricted, but the monument is impressive even from below.
