Shatili is a medieval fortified village in Khevsureti, in the Arghuni gorge at about 1,400 metres above sea level. The village is a unique complex of stone defensive tower-houses built against one another to form a single fortress.
Shatili is one of the most remarkable monuments of Georgian highland architecture and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. In summer it is the main destination of Khevsureti trekking routes.
